Pangbourne Arts: 'Tomorrow is today' (Papagena)

Songs of beauty, love and the passing of time from Papagena's fourth album ‘Tomorrow is Today’. This programme will include music by Hildegard of Bingen, Leonora d'Este and Claudio Monteverdi to Kate Bush, Caroline Shaw and James MacMillan.

International vocal ensemble Papagena is a rarity in the UK, an all-female quintet set up to explore music from medieval times to the present day written specifically for female voices. The group’s programming defies pigeonholing; Medieval, classical, folk and contemporary music is interwoven into intriguing programmes which fascinate diverse audiences.

Launched in 2015, the group has been featured on BBC Radio 3, Scala FM and BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s hour, performed in numerous festivals and venues throughout the UK, recently including The Stables - Milton Keynes, Southwell Minister, the Three Choirs Festival and the Ryedale Festival. Internationally, the group has performed in Ireland and Scotland and enjoys a fruitful collaboration with harpist Victoria Davies, premiering new works written specifically for the group in the Netherlands.
