Closer To Home are in residency at Oakford Social Club this Summer, as we showcase some brilliant local up and coming acts who you need to know. Our motto is “you shouldn’t have to go to London to see great live music” - as an independent promoter, we bring phenomenal artists from across genres to Reading. These line-ups feature acts who haven’t played here in way too long - coming back, Closer To Home.
Closing out our residency (for now) on Thursday 18th September is Bracknell boy MUNBOI - best described as your mate who'd jump head first off a skateboard if he thought it'd make you laugh. Cheeky, effervescent, and unafraid of breaking boundaries, he’s racked up 4 million streams, multiple national radio plays, and 5 concussions.
First on is Reading-born but Australia-raised Alex Blyth, who's now back in the UK with her lyrics-first pop, and has already earnt praise from The Saturdays' Mollie King on Radio 1.
To raise the energy in between we have Sophie's House, a fresh, bright, and endearing indie-pop fourpiece who'll have you feeling both nostalgic and jubilant. They're yet to release any of their tunes - so this is the first chance you'll get to hear them, anywhere in the world.”
