Join Nature Nurture and friends for a wonderful afternoon celebrating The Cowsey - one of Reading’s hidden green spaces in Whitley South Reading..
Whether you’re visiting The Cowsey for the first time or already know and love it, this free family event is your chance to discover its wildlife, history and hidden stories through outdoor activites and three brand new waymarked trails.
In case of hot weather, we have shelters and woodland shady glades.
- Create beautiful Wild Art inspired by the twelve animals featured on the Wild Walk.
- Visit the Wild Gadget Lab and make your own nature exploration tools.
- Visit Nature Explorers, where you’ll search for minibeasts and discover the hidden world beneath your feet.
- Help us shape the future of The Cowsey by sharing your thoughts on our maps.
Discover The Cowsey in a whole new way
Over the past year, local people have helped shape three unique trails that reveal different sides of The Cowsey:
- Memory Lane – hear memories and reflections from local residents, bringing the woodland to life through their own voices.
- Wild Walk – meet some of the amazing wildlife that calls The Cowsey home.
- History Hike – uncover fascinating stories about the landscape and how it has changed over time.
You can catch the Emerald 5 or park your car at the leisure centre.
