Solstice Sunset Swim

After a sold‑out first year, Reading’s homelessness charity Launchpad is delighted to announce the return of its Solstice Sunset Swim on Sunday 21 June 2026, taking place once again at Dinton Pastures Activity Centre.

Held on the longest day of the year, this unique midsummer event invites the local community to slow down, switch off and come together for an evening of reflection, wellbeing and connection, all while raising vital funds to support people facing homelessness across Reading.

Last year’s inaugural event sold out in advance, with participants praising its peaceful atmosphere and powerful sense of community. Due to high demand, Launchpad is bringing the experience back for 2026 with limited spaces available.

Set against the calm waters of Dinton Pastures at sunset, the evening blends mindfulness, nature and gentle adventure. The programme includes a welcome drink, a guided meditation, yoga, and a deeply relaxing sound bath. And of course, for those that wish, an open‑water swim or dip as the sun goes down. A portable sauna will also be available to help swimmers warm up and unwind.

Those who prefer to stay dry are warmly welcomed to enjoy the meditation, sound bath and solstice atmosphere without entering the water — making the event accessible to all.

All proceeds, including a charity raffle with donated prizes, will go directly to Launchpad.

An evening of connection, calm & community – all for a good cause

Join us on the longest day of the year for a truly special sunset swim or dip in support of Launchpad, a homelessness prevention charity working to support people across Reading by providing advice and safe, secure housing.

This isn’t just a swim – it’s an evening to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself and others. As the sun sets, you'll experience:

  • A refreshing welcome drink on arrival
  • A mindful sunset swim or dip
  • A deeply relaxing guided meditation
  • A soul soothing sound bath
  • A gentle, grounding yoga session
  • An optional sauna and cold plunge experience for an additional £5 – perfect for boosting circulation

Whether you're taking the plunge or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere, you’ll be part of a powerful evening celebrating mental wellbeing, community spirit, and brighter futures for those facing homelessness.

If you'd rather not swim/dip, or if you're coming along to support a friend or family member, please select the Earth ticket option.
Please note that for safety reasons you'll be required to provide contact details for all those swimming.
