Shivoham: Live show at Reading Museum
To mark the end of our The Art of Dance From The Indian Subcontinent exhibition in the Welcome Gallery at Reading Museum, we will present a performance of Shivoham, a collaboration between choreographer Sushmita Pati and music composer Rohan Roy. Enjoy contemporary music inspired by the aura of Shiva the dancer.
Exploring the blue god, who dwells in the mountain, and his relationship with earth. His creatures are introduced through Patachitra masks, a special art form of Odisha. A visual feast of colourful and elaborate costumes and flowing fabric, creating movement reflective of the sacred Ganges river.
