Vasilis Xenopoulos Dexterity Quintet

'When Vasilis is playing ...the outcome is downright irresistible ... (The Guardian)

Vasilis Xenopoulos makes a welcome return to the Progress Theatre with his Dexterity Quintet, which promises to set the fireworks flying with an exhilarating tribute to the music of tenor saxophone giant, the late Dexter Gordon.

Vasilis, one of the most accomplished Greek musicians of his generation, settled permanently in London after graduating with Honours from Berklee College of Music, Boston, USA. His swinging, straight-ahead approach will blend perfectly with the explosive and incredible range of Quentin Collins' trumpet and the inventive flowing lines of piano/keyboardist Ross Stanley. Simon Thorpe on bass and Matt Fishwick on drums will stoke the boilers in the rhythm section.

Vasilis, leading a band at Progress for the first time, has brought together some of the the UK's finest and most  hard-working musicians who love the challenge of playing together. They will be guaranteed a great reception!
