"Janett Mason breathes new jazz life into this well chosen selection of tunes", Ian Mann (The Jazzmann)
Janette Mason, nominee for Jazz Instrumentalist of The Year in The Parliamentary Jazz Awards, is a jazz pianist - she names Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett amongst her favourite players - a composer for films and TV, an arranger and producer of all genres from jazz to soul and to pop, and a heartfelt musical communicator dedicated to excellence and reaching out to audiences.
Over the course of a thirty-year career Janette has quietly but emphatically made her presence felt, whether leading her own trio, playing sessions with Oasis, Pulp or Seal or working with legendary producer Tony Visconti.
Janette's highly acclaimed new album, Re-Wired, launched at the Pizza Express, Dean Street in May 2025, brings her career full circle with Re-Wired interpretations of the rich variety of music she listened to and was influenced by as a teenager. Innovative chart busters like Gary Numan's 'Cars', David Bowie's 'John, I'm Only Dancing' and Noel Gallagher's 'Don't Look Back in Anger', sit side-by-side with classic standards like 'Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered' and 'Lullaby of Birdland' - .an eclectic mix that will prove irresistible 'live' on the Progress stage.
Janette will be joined by: Tom Mason and Eric Ford, two of the UK's most versatile and accomplished musicians. Tom is a long term member of Robert Mitchell's award winning Panacea and has performed, recorded and toured with artists such as Liz Wright, Mark Ronson and Jamie Cullum. Eric has performed across the globe and played on around sixty albums. He has worked with musicians as diverse as Ronnie Laws, Marc Almond, Clare Teal and Jason Rebello.
Janette's inventive arrangements, mixing deep grooves with gutsy swing, blazing solos and unforgettable melody, will delight the ear. This is timeless music RE-WIRED for the present day. Don't miss it!
