Catherine is a social historian and chairman of both Berkshire Family History Society and Purley’s local history society. During the English Civil War, soldiers occupied Reading and surrounding areas with devastating effects. This talk describes how the communities were caught up in skirmishes and attempted to carry on with their lives.
