Early Closing Day: Air Raids on Reading in WW2

The History of Reading Society are continuing their online meetings at 7.30pm on Weds 21st February. This talk by Mike Cooper will be held on Zoom.

41 people were killed by just four bombs during Reading’s only fatal air raid on 10th February 1943 – one of about 20 raids. This talk describes how Reading prepared for air attack, and the actual air raids themselves. Mike has had a lifelong interest in history, especially military and local history and has worked as a librarian.
