Reading West Railway Bridge & Oxford Road Public Realm Improvements - Drop in Sessions
Mon 24 Apr, 12:30-20:00
As a part of Reading's High Street Heritage Action Zone (a 4-year programme which funds community, cultural and conservation work), community lead research along Oxford Road revealed a wish for a greener, brighter street. Therefore, a theme of biodiversity and the natural environment is proposed as a motif that can be applied along the street to various features. See illustrations above for an indication of how this might appear on shop fronts and on the Reading West Bridge.
We now want you to help us create the final design. Please come along to one of the workshops prepared to share your ideas, including those inspired by nature, that you think best reflects you, the local community, and your business (if a business owner), and to help us think about a future new look for Reading West Bridge.
The final design will be a collaborative project and reflect the best of the Oxford Road. A limited number of properties will also have the opportunity to benefit from new shop front kits (subject to funding) that could comprise seating, tables, planters, signage and shop front awnings please come along to find out more.
If you would like to attend, please email hshaz@reading.gov.uk to confirm your attendance. It's a drop-in session, so you don't have to be there throughout the whole session.
