The annual amateur choir competition raising money for the Mayor of Reading's charities returns for 2023 - and FIFTEEN local choirs will compete in the grand final!
Seven junior and eight community choirs will take to the Hexagon stage on Friday 24 March to battle it out for the Let’s Sing trophy. The evening, hosted by ITV Meridian’s Mel Bloor, will feature performances from all 15 choirs, as well as an exciting musical interval performance by Damien A. Passmore.
A winner will be crowned from each category, and the overall winner of the night will be presented with a special Let’s Sing trophy by the Mayor.
In the school choir line-up: Abbey Junior School's Chamber Choir, The Bulmershe Ensemble, St Michael's School Choir, The ABCs (The Abbey Barbershop Collection), Calcot School Choir, English Martyrs School Choir, and Highdown School Choir.
The community choirs are: Cantata Conviva, Kryla, Vocalese, Weller Voices, Time To Sing Choir, Barbarettes, Readiophonics, and the Wargrave Community Choir.
This year the Mayor of Reading's selected charities are Parenting Special Children, Alliance for Cohesion and Racial Equality (ACRE), and The Sue Ryder, Duchess of Kent Hospice.
