Heavy Pop: The Bug Club

The Bug Club

‘Brimming with purposeful vigour and instantly memorable tunes... one of the best new bands of recent times ’ Louder Than War

The Bug Club return to Reading this Autumn to perform songs off their double album ‘Rare Birds: Hour of Song’ (out October 20th). Their eighth release since joining forces with Bingo Records in the Summer 2020, 'RareBirds...' is a culmination of a year spent relentlessly touring. But it's not one of those hackneyed road records. It's about birds, to an extent. Well, it is, and it isn't. And it is 47-songs long, featuring 23 Cutler-esque spoken-word tracks that weave through the musictelling a surreal story to accompany the band’s usual witty, taut garage rock. Oh, and it comes with a fully illustrated, 32-page book.

The band again bring their infectious live show to the Face Bar and will be supported by...

SUEP

SUEP who make oddball car-boot-sale pop songs with a sprinkling of theatrical storytelling. The band is led by Georgie Stott (Porridge Radio, Garden Centre) and Josh Harvey alongside George Nicholls (The GN Band, Joanna Gruesome, The Tubs), William Deacon (PC World, Garden Centre), and Ollie Chapman.

Their debut mini-album Shop was released by Memorials of Distinction in 2023.
