BBC Question Time

Question Time is set to return to the University of Reading for a night of debate and discussion. 

The flagship BBC One political show, which sees politicians and public figures take questions from audience members, will air from the Great Hall on Thursday, 20 March. 

Based at the University’s London Road campus, the episode marks the second time the show has been hosted from the Great Hall following its last visit almost exactly three years ago on 24 March 2022. 

Professor Dominik Zaum, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Academic Planning and Resource, and member of the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Reading, said: "It is great to welcome Question Time back to Reading at a time when the country is embarking on critical political debates on key international and domestic issues. Open and respectful argument is at the heart of what Universities do. Hosting a programme like Question Time, which plays such an important role in our national political discourse, represents a unique opportunity for students, colleagues, and the wider community in Reading to engage with these debates.” 

The last time Question Time came to the University of Reading, guests included Damian Hinds MP, then Conservative government security minister; Labour’s Lisa Nandy MP; Mark Serwotka, general secretary of the PCS Union; comedian Dom Joly; and Kate Andrews, economics editor for the Spectator.
