Friends of Reading Abbey AGM 2023
The 2023 Friends of Reading Abbey Annual General Meeting and Autumn Lecture will be held on Saturday 28th October beginning at 2.30pm. It will take place in the Abbey Baptist Church, Abbey Square, Reading, RG1 3BE - behind Reading Central Library. Doors will open at 2.00pm.
The lecture will be given by Professor Lindy Grant on the subject "Burying the Royal Dead: Reading Abbey and royal pantheons in the high middle ages". Professor Grant will explore the changing traditions of burial of monarchs during the Anglo-Norman period.
