Backbeat is an 11 piece band that play their favourite Soul, R & B and Jump Jive tunes by artists including Jackie Wilson, Ruth Brown, Wilson Pickett, Louis Jordan, Ann Peebles, Fontella Bass, Edwin Starr, Stevie Wonder, Irma Thomas and Aretha Franklin.
Backbeat Band’s mission is to have fun and play music for DANCING!
Featuring Alison Rolls and Colin Armstrong - lead vocals; Dave Gray - guitar & lead vocals; Pete Thompson – bass; John Wright – keyboards; Di Whittaker - backing vocals; Craig Broadfoot - keyboards; Simon Price - drums; Sean Horsey –tenor sax; Dick Hanson - trumpet (Graham Parker & the Rumour); Steve King - baritone sax and guesting on harmonica - Neil Packman.
