The March Violets
w/ 13th Chime + The Go Go Cult + The Pink Diamond Revue
Original Post Punk Drum Machine Band From Leeds. Started at the Beginning, Imploded, and now Reborn for the 21st Century.
In 1981, the city of Leeds saw the birth of The March Violets, a four-piece with a drum machine (Dr. Rhythm) whose first EP, the legendary Religious as Hell was produced by Andrew Eldritch. During the early eighties they recorded a series of singles that, today, are considered post-punk classics. The band had a first era that came to an end in 1987, but this new millennium saw The Violets come back together and even record new songs. They have just finished working on a new album to be released later this year. They are one of the classic original post punk gothic bands you can’t miss, catch them on their new 2024 tour to support their brand new album Crocodile Promises!
And for the first time The March Violets are releasing their full back catalogue, with worldwide distribution via Jungle Records.
Founder members Rosie Garland (performer, poet and author) and Tom Ashton (guitarist, producer and studio owner) are joined by William Faith (musician and vocalist with Faith & the Muse, Conflict and The Bellwether Syndicate). The March Violets are so excited to be back in the studio and having recording their new album are looking forward to playing some of these these songs live along with all your favourite classic tracks from the past.
