Caversham Arts Trail 2024
All round Caversham and Emmer Green
11/12 & 18/19 May, 11:00-17:00
This year the Trail opens its doors to 20 venues across Caversham and Emmer Green with 43 artists taking part on the weekends of 11th & 12th and 18th & 19th May with all venues open from 11am–5pm. The Trail will be showing the brilliant new creations of our wonderful original CAT Artists as well as welcoming 14 new talented artists and 8 new venues to explore! These include Humos the perfumier in central Caversham, abstract painter Lou Sharpe in Caversham Heights, watercolour artist Tasha Arkell, and local Blacksmith Billy Goodworth both in Emmer Green plus many more genres across the creative arts including woodwork, ceramics, painting, collage, stained glass, bookbinding, woven and hand stitched textiles, printmaking, jewellery, and wrought iron sculptures. A new area this year is Tokers Green, where founder and organiser Julie Simmonds will be exhibiting a collection of printing, paintings, and ceramics.
The high quality of work on display will suit all tastes, pockets but there is no obligation to buy, the Trail organisers just want visitors to come away feeling inspired by all the work the artists have made throughout the year in their secret studios! During the weekends artists are more than happy to explain their processes and share their enthusiasm for creating! Visitors to the Trail will also be able to watch demonstrations by the artists and even have a go themselves at some venues.
And after all that hard work, visitors can also take advantage of refreshments (including home-made cake) at several of the venues. True Food Co Op is also offering a pitstop with the opportunity to take a comfort break and grab a Trail map.
Caversham Arts Trail is pleased to be supporting Launchpad Reading, Berkshire Autistic Society, Domestic Abuse Support, Cancer Research and British Heart Foundation to name a few. All proceeds from refreshments sales and visitor donations will be greatly received.
CAT looks forward to welcoming you to the largest Trail since it started in 2010!
