Launchpad Fundraiser Gig
with Rev John & The Revelations and Phil ‘N’ The Blanks
Rev John & The Revelations and Phil ‘N’ The Blanks are putting on an evening’s entertainment at The Butler to raise funds for local homeless charity Launchpad. Admission is free but cash donations to Launchpad will be appreciated.
Rev John & The Revelations play a mix of originals and pop songs, mangled with the Rev’s twisted lyrics and occasional kazoo. Featuring Rev John (guitar/vox) Simon Windisch (bass) Neil Warren (harmonica and mandolin) with Jamie Mead (drums) and lyrics best described as “PG”. They have been likened to Ian Dury more than once. Mostly Blues/Funk/Reggae.
Phil ‘N’ The Blanks are an alternative covers band from Caversham - eclectic and lively, you will get to hear blistering versions of songs by the Who, Kinks, Clash and Undertones, Ramones and Bowie, Hendrix, Blur and many more. Celebrated for audience participation, class musicianship and all round good times for people passionate about music.
Launchpad is Reading’s leading homeless support charity, providing vital information and support for individuals, couples and families who don’t have a place to live or are at risk of losing their homes. Last year they helped over 1,000 people in housing crisis in Reading get back on their feet.
