Balboa Dance Class - 6 week Fundamentals Course

Love swing music? Looking for a new hobby? Looking for a great way to meet friendly people? Then join us for our fun dance class every Monday.
Classes each Monday, one suitable for beginners (new starters can come in Weeks 1 and 2 of each new course) and one for improver/intermediate dancers. Week 1 for this course is Monday 21st Feb 2022.
20:30 - doors open, warm up dancing to start fundamentals class. Suitable for beginners and those with more experience, this class has a 6 week structure that will teach you all of the main Balboa figures as well as ample technique and styling to get you social dancing as well as playing with moves and rhythms. Each 6 week course teaches different concepts, so improver dancers will continue to benefit from the classes.
21:20 - social dancing
21:40 - improver/intermediate class, suitable for those who have done 3-4 fundamentals courses so you have a good set of strong fundamentals from the beginner classes.
Improver dancers are strongly encouraged to attend the beginner fundamentals class (you pay the same so why not!) and this will also act as a great time to focus on the fundamentals of the techniques we will then build on in the second class.
COVID precautions:
This dance is a partnered, close-contact dance, as such we have implement certain additional safety measures which those attending class will need to agree to adhere to:
1. Proof of full vaccination status via the NHS app/ letter (proof to be provided once at your first class)
2. Proof of negative lateral flow test taken on the day of class by showing email or text from NHS website (proof to be provided each week at start of class when you pay)
3. Provision of contact information (Rising Sun has a QR code to scan on entry) so the track and trace people can contact you in the event of an infection
4. Masks are mandatory and to be worn at all times, especially when dancing
5. Rotation only for those who feel safe to do so, otherwise please buddy up into fixed partnerships
