Coming to UK all the way from Indonesia, the super talented rapper Yacko will be blessing our stage at Artist Link-Up this September 2024! 

"Yacko is a prominent female rapper from

Indonesia that has been a key figure in the

Indonesian Hip Hop scene for over two decades.

She has consistently released albums, singles, and

other creative projects throughout her career.

Being among the limited number of female

emcees in Indonesia, she stands out as the only

one to have released three albums.

She primarily raps in Indonesian, English, and

Javanese (an indigineous language spoken in the

central and eastern parts of Java island,

Indonesia) and blends them with Hip Hop, Drum n

Bass, and Electronic beats. Occasionally, she also

integrates traditional Indonesian music into her

work.

Yacko is a prolific lyricist who sheds light on the

challenges faced by women, particularly gender

discrimination throughout all her work. She

actively opposes the patriarchal norms within

Indonesian society.

In 2017, she spearheaded a campaign and launched

a powerful anthem titled “Hands Off” to raise

awareness against sexual harassment, showing

solidarity with all victims of street and sexual

harassment. Recently, she released “Women King”

to advocate for a safe space for female graffiti

artists.

Known for her energetic performance style that can

get the audience dancing, she also juggles her role

as a university lecturer during the weekdays"
