Reading Amateur Regatta: Racing, Community, and New Festivities at Caversham Court Gardens

The Reading Amateur Regatta (RAR), one of the UK’s oldest and most prestigious rowing events, returns to the River Thames for a two-day celebration of sport and community. First held in 1842, the regatta welcomes top rowing clubs, schools, and future Olympians to compete on its fast-paced 1,500m course.

While the rowing takes place across the river, this year the Caversham side springs to life! In Caversham Court GardensAngel Bar and Feeling Crafty are teaming up with Hub Cap Promotions to bring a vibrant vintage marketgarden games, delicious food and drink.

Stalls include:

  • and many more — offering something for everyone.

It’s the perfect way to also spend Father’s Day weekend (Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June)— take a riverside stroll, soak up the racing action, and enjoy festive family fun in a beautiful riverside setting.
