Beethoven on the Bridge at Reading Station
Saturday 15th July, 2.30pm - 5pm
Reading's Aldworth Philharmonic Orchestra (APO) is looking to impress passengers with a free public event at Reading station transfer deck on Saturday, 15 July.
The Beethoven on the Bridge event will feature performances of the world's most famous symphony, Beethoven’s Fifth, alongside iconic marches, including Mendelssohn’s Wedding March and Berlioz’s Hungarian March from The Damnation of Faust. All pieces will be conducted by APO Music Director Andrew Taylor. However, as always, there will be an opportunity to have a go at waving a stick in the conducting relay!
The event is FREE and is supported by Network Rail and GWR, who will allow members of the public through the ticket barriers at the station to access the event (please don’t get on a train without a ticket).
This is an informal event, and the audience can come and go as they please, with no seating available. The station is accessible to wheelchair users via the lifts, including toilet facilities. The noises and activity of the train station are all part of the atmosphere.
