READING’S NEXT STAR WANTED

Auditions at Reading Rep Theatre on 27th September

Could your child make their professional stage debut as Reading Rep Theatre’s Tiny Tim? Berkshire’s flagship producing theatre, Reading Rep Theatre, has announced a local talent search to find three young actors to play the role of Tiny Tim in their upcoming festive production of A Christmas Carol.

For the festive season, the theatre will produce a new staging of Beth Flintoff’s 5* acclaimed adaptation of A Christmas Carol, which relocates Charles Dickens’ seminal story to Reading and the iconic Huntley and Palmers Biscuit Factory. The adaptation, which had past sell-out runs in 2021 and 2022 in Reading, will run from Friday 28 November 2025 - Saturday 3 January 2026. A perfect family night out with a local twist. Chris Cumings (Peter Pan, The Snow Queen) returns to direct the new staging of Reading Rep’s Christmas show, who was previously co-director and movement director on the prior incarnations of the show.

The three chosen young performers will share the role of Tiny Tim in the production alongside a cast and crew of professional, nationally recognised talent.

Louis Ling, Children’s Casting Director at Reading Rep Theatre, will lead the auditions which will take place in Reading Rep Theatre’s Learning Space on the afternoon of 27th September.

Ling said of the auditions, “We’re looking for boys and girls aged 9–11, currently in primary school years 5–6, who love acting to come and audition to be our Tiny Tim this September! We can’t wait to meet you, and see your personality and acting skills shine in a fun and relaxed audition session.”
