Our lives as musicians
Presentation to Reading u3a by Adrian and Jane Smith
At this presentation Adrian and Jane Smith will not only describe their life as musicians in classical and pop music, in concerts, TV and film and with many famous celebrities, but will bring their instruments along to accompany the stories. Adrian is a professional freelance viola player and Jane a violinist.
Adrian and Jane have worked in most concert halls, cathedrals, arenas, stately homes and recording studios in the country. They have travelled widely with orchestras and pop groups, and have encountered many famous people on the way, working alongside Shirley Bassey, Rod Stewart, Yehudi Menuhin, Andre Bocelli, Jason Donovan, Neil Diamond, Lesley Garrett, Elaine Paige and Nigel Kennedy – to name but a few! They have appeared in feature films and television programmes such as Downton Abbey and Mission Impossible. They have a wealth of amusing and sometimes surprising stories from first hand experience.
Come and enjoy the stories and their music on Monday 26 October at 2 pm in the Abbey Baptist Church, Reading. It’s free of charge and non-members are welcome. See readingu3a.org.uk.
