Get ready for a burst of summer energy as the Aldworth Philharmonic Orchestra fills Reading Station’s stunning transfer deck with vibrant, high‑spirited orchestral music. The space has a brilliantly resonant acoustic — perfect for an afternoon of colour, rhythm and fun.
Entry is completely free: just ask the gateline staff to let you through (access is for the event only and doesn’t permit rail travel without a valid ticket). Once you’re up on the transfer deck, you can soak up the sound, enjoy the atmosphere, and even step up to conduct the orchestra if you fancy giving it a go.
Featuring music inspired by the spirit of Spain, including Chabrier’s España, Bizet’s Carmen Suites, Saint‑Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso with young soloist Shree Rao of Reading Youth Orchestra, and Rimsky‑Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol.
