Bach's St John Passion

Spring Concert

Johannes Sebastian Bach wrote St John Passion when he was appointed director of music and cantor in Leipzig in 1723.

It consists of choruses interspresed with recitative and arias sung by soloists.

We are fortunate to have be accompanied by the Chameleon Arts Orchestra (who performed this work with PCS in 1999 and 2008).

We also have Jeremy Wan playing the organ amd harpischord - Jeremy accompanied us for our 2025 Christmas concert.

For the soloists we have a number of young professionals - most of whom have sung with us before.

Note that we will be singing it in German
