Kennet and Avon Canal Walk from Kennet Mouth to Caversham Bridge

This will be number six in the BIAG series of walks along the Kennet & Avon Canal viewing the transport history and industrial archaeology of the canal and riverside and has been designed as a short winter walk. Walking boots advised.

Meet outside Reading Station (winter.zeal.toned) at 10:30 to walk down to County Lock (106) on the Kennet & Avon Canal, we will then walk towards Kennet Mouth and the confluence with the river Thames and follow the Thames Path to Caversham Bridge. On the way we will visit the Reading Riverside Museum (entry free but a donation is requested) view the remaining canal-side industrial infrastructure and bridges before dropping off at The Griffin in Caversham for a post walk meal and drink. Following a short bus ride will return to Reading Central for our return journeys.
