Kennet and Avon Canal Walk from Bedwyn to Hungerford

A joint walk between RCHS London Group and BIAG focussing on transport history and the industrial archaeology of the canal.

Meet outside Bedwyn Station at 10:30 following the departure of the 09:33 from Reading that arrives Newbury at 09:54 to change train and pick-up the 10:11 service to Bedwyn that arrives at 10:30 to walk down to the start at Bedwyn Wharf Bridge (95). A day return ticket Reading to Hungerford is £8.85 with a Senior Railcard.

This is number five in our series of walks along the Kennet & Avon Canal viewing the transport history and industrial archaeology of the canal. It is a linear walk along the canal starting from Bedwyn Wharf (turning east) and walking to Hungerford Lock (74) where there will be an opportunity for a post walk pub lunch at the Bear Hotel before taking a return train from Hungerford to Reading.
