Jazz at Progress: Steve Waterman Latin Jazz Quartet

-

Steve Waterman Latin Jazz Quartet: Steve Waterman trumpet & flugelhorn, John Donaldson piano, Rob Statham bass and Buster Birch drums

Multi-poll winner Steve Waterman is one of Britain's finest and most versatile trumpet and flugelhorn players, whose Latin jazz credentials include performing  with the legendary Chucho Valdes Band at the Havana Jazz Festival in 2002 and on many other occasions.

Steve formed his Latin Jazz Quartet in 2019 to play the precise rhythms from Brazil, Cuba and the Dominican Republic and compositions by masters of the genre such as Jobin, Puente and Mendez and also to revitalize more familiar material from the Great American songbook in this exciting and colourful manner.

Steve will be joined by gifted pianist and composer John Donaldson, Rob Statham on bass and Buster Birch on drums.

Jazz at Progress would like to thank Hickie's Music of Reading & Tiverton for the loan of the Yamaha piano that will used for this performance.
