Dawn Chorus

Reading Walks Festival 2024

The Dawn Chorus is one of nature's wonders and the meadows in the Kennet Valley are an exceptional location to enjoy it. There is a great variety of birds in the varied habitats that we’ll wander quietly through. We’ll walk in a loop around the meadows and along the canal, ending back at our start point.

About the walk leader

The walk is led by Adrian Lawson.

"I have been enjoying the dawn chorus since I was a child. It has mostly been a solitary pastime but I am really enthusiastic about getting people to share the pleasure. I can identify all the birds that are singing, and I have been observing the changes in bird populations over many years."

Getting there

Bus number 26 stops in Southcote Lane at the junction with Circuit Lane. Meet at the gate across the road. There’s also plenty of solid cycle parking at the start point.
