Birds, Bins and a Brew: getting to know the birds in your garden

How much do you really know about the birds in your garden? This talk by naturalist Ailsa Claybourn will help you identify the birds and learn from their behaviour, and will look at ways in which we can encourage birds to share our gardens with us. Ailsa will also discuss garden birds’ songs, the best – and worst – food to give them and how to enjoy the beauty and variety of our local birds.

Ailsa, who also leads guided walks locally, has been mad about birds since she was a child. She has worked for the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and the RSPB and is a regular volunteer with the British Trust for Ornithology and with the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust. Now retired from a career in teaching, she shares her passion for nature and raises awareness and understanding of the natural world around us. Reading u3a is delighted to be hosting this talk on such a key theme.
