Friday Night Blues: The Rag & Moan Men

It’s been a while since we had a Blues Club in Reading, so here it is Friday Night Blues. We will be putting on regular shows and events, these will be a mix of seated acoustic nights and full electric shows ( and a mix of the two)
To start we we have a couple of one off events and once we get in the swing of things we aim to have regular nights.

The Rag & Moan Men have been playing acoustic blues, folk, Roots, Americana, and a little bit of jazz for over 15 years. Entertaining audiences in pubs, clubs, wine bars, festivals and theatres across the south of England
The name comes from “Rag”, as in Ragtime and “Moan” as in Wild Ox Moan, Black Snake Moan, Clarksdale Moan and all those other early blues classics. The repertoire extends well beyond the music of the 20s and 30s to encompass the whole blues diaspora, to include plenty of songs written by the band plus the likes of JJ Cale, Little Feat and Van Morrison.
