Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a touch of enchantment at the Reading Lantern Parade on Saturday 15th February at 5.30pm.
Bring your loved ones and experience the magic of hundreds of beautifully crafted lanterns glowing in the night. Whether you’re celebrating with a partner, family or friends, this illuminated parade with drumming and music is the perfect way to make your Valentine’s weekend unforgettable.
Join us at 5.30pm outside the Broad Street Mall for a night of light, love and laughter.

WHAT IS THE PARADE ROUTE?
The parade travels along St Mary’s Butts to Broad Street at 5:30pm heading to Town Hall Square for a musical finale.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE PARADE?
100’s of people from across Reading have been taking part in lantern-making workshops creating beautiful candle lit lanterns to bring to the parade.
The parade will be lead by a bateria of drummers and large sculptural lanterns finishing in Town Hall Square
The parade will move at a slow walking pace is suitable for all ages.
If you made a lantern at one of the lantern making workshops before Christmas, please come to the back of the Broad Street Mall (Opposite Blue Collar Food) at 5pm to check and light your candle. Attendees without lantern please join us at 5:30pm on Broad Street (Oxford Road end)

Fix your existing pyramid candle lit lantern
Sunday 26 January 10.30am -12.30pm, Wednesday 5 February 12 - 2pm at Jelly, 115-116 Broad Street Mall
We know accidents can happen, so we are offering a free repair session for any lanterns made with us ahead of this year’s parade. Pop along with your lantern either Sunday 26 January, 10.30am - 12.30pm or Wednesday 5 February 12 - 2pm
Otherwise we will see you at the Parade at 5pm behind the back of the Broad Street Mall to light your candle lit lantern.
Make a Heart Lantern Workshop
Saturday 15th February 3pm-5pm, First floor Broad Street Mall
Come along to this free and fun creative workshop to make your own illuminated heart shaped lantern for the parade.
Book a slot between 3pm-5pm on Saturday 15th February before the Lantern Parade starts at 5.30pm.
Each lantern takes approximately 30minutes to make and all materials and instructions are provided, suitable for all ages.
The Heart Shaped Lantern Workshop is upstairs on the first floor of the Broad Street Mall close to Jelly.
Please book one free ticket for each lantern you would like to make.
