Vintage Vinyl Weekend promises, “Our biggest and best yet!”

Authentic rarities and hard-to-find records with heritage.

The Sound Machine’s Vintage Vinyl Weekend has quickly become a red letter day in the calendar for record enthusiasts from across Berkshire and beyond. Making the pilgrimage to Reading’s longest-serving record shop, those in attendance browse alongside fellow enthusiasts, all in search of that elusive artefact or rare missing item from their hallowed collections.

Now in its sixth year, the event has made a name for itself as a collector’s paradise and tonic to the big-budget, commercial fodder served up during the industry’s flagship event, Record Store Day, which rolls-out across the country every year. VVW is small by comparison, but don’t be fooled, when it comes to supplying record collectors with unique artefacts to fill the gaps in their collection, Vintage Vinyl Weekend is a Goliath.

The Sound Machine shop owner, Neal, doesn’t mince words when excitedly stating, “This is, hands down, our biggest and best Vintage Vinyl Weekend yet! I spend a lot of my time driving up and down the country assessing collections and this year has been absolutely insane. I won’t name any names, but we’ve picked up a few stunning collections from high-profile people in the industry. I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve got when we open our doors on the 29th & 30th of June.”

Open six days a week, with records for all tastes, interests and budgets. With over thirty years in the industry, The Sound Machine has a reputation for being the place to go if you have a collection to sell, or if you’re looking for some quality wax to add to your stack.

This year’s Vintage Vinyl Weekend will feature some of the UK’s finest gems, rarities and collectables from genres including rock, punk, indie, reggae, jazz, dance and soul. Queues to get in usually start an hour or so before the doors have even opened, so arrive early to avoid disappointment!
