Cheese Feast 2023 announces karaoke with Barry from Eastenders and more for end of April at Forbury Gardens

Lovers of cheese will be delighted to hear that Blue Collar’s popular Cheese Feast event returns to Forbury Gardens on 28th to 30th April on a much larger scale than ever before. Not only will the three-day free entry event be bringing over twenty cheese-based street food kitchens to the central Reading park, attendees can also enjoy a full programme of live entertainment and a produce area run by local cheese experts The Grumpy Goat.
Headlining Cheese Feast’s entertainment stage on Saturday 29th April will be Shaun Williamson (best known to many as Barry from Eastenders) with his very own BARRIOKE. Audience members get the chance to join the man himself on stage to perform songs alongside some memorable performances of his own. Shaun hosts the event with his usual trademark warmth and teasing banter, accompanying participants on stage, creating a riotous, joyous moment that people will never forget.

The ABBA Tribute Band will be headlining the Friday night of Cheese Feast (29th April), performing ABBA’s greatest hits live and emulating the great Bjorn, Benny, Anni-Frid and Agnetha for one big singalong of dancing queens and kings in Forbury Gardens.

Taking place just two week’s before the Eurovision Song Contest comes to the UK, Cheese Feast 2023 welcomes The EuroVisionaries to their stage on Sunday 30th April. The six-piece local supergroup will close the weekend with a one-off performance featuring covers of the greatest hits of Eurovision from over the years. Also on the Sunday, local dance schools will be showcasing routines to classic pop songs in a special lunchtime performance.

Across all three days, Blue Collar will be providing bars with local craft beer alongside Pimms, prosecco, cocktails and more (with firepits in the evenings) while The Grumpy Goat curate a cheese produce area featuring stalls from some of the makers of the popular cheeses sold from their town centre shop.

“We can’t wait to bring Cheese Feast back to Forbury Gardens” says Blue Collar’s Glen Dinning “Our first two Cheese Feast events were a huge success and brought thousands of people to Forbury Gardens. Now we’re going bigger and better with even more cheese-based street food stalls, a full line-up of fun live entertainment and a cheese produce area run by our good friends The Grumpy Goat.”

  • Saturday 29th April 11am-10.30pm (Barrioke + more TBA)
