Casual Hospitality Assistants - The Hexagon
The Hexagon Theatre hosts busy events that attract a diverse range of audience members who enjoy excellent customer service, as well as food and drinks delivered by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic professionals.
We are looking to add a few new members to our friendly and supportive team and would welcome anyone from a hospitality background, with a passion for theatre, or hosting audiences at live events.
£12.00 per hour | Part time

About the role
As a member of the Hospitality team you will:
- Welcome customers to the venue ensuring all their queries are answered
- Prepare and serve food and drinks orders from one of the many Bars and Coffee Bars as well as facilitate the delivery of pre-ordered drinks to event customers
- Help to serve food and drinks at backstage and at pre or post show receptions
- Be at least 18 years of age if working on the Bars
- Be at least 16 years of age if working on the Cafe or Coffee Bars
- Need to be comfortable working in an environment that serves and sells alcohol
Applicants who are more comfortable in the kitchen than behind a bar are very welcome as The Hexagon has a Café and Coffee Bars.
A background in catering is preferred but full training is provided by the supportive team members who come back year after year.
The job requires an understanding of the principles of food safety, licensing law, good hygiene, and involves cash and manual handling as well as providing high standards of customer service.
About you
You must be available to take up the position immediately and commit to working evenings and weekends as and when the theatre programme requires.
A rota system offers shifts when there are events, and you must tell us in advance of any shifts you would not be available for. Most shifts will commence at 6.30pm and last approximately 3-4 hours. On weekends there can be matinee performances that start earlier. Some weekend work is required but you will not be expected to work them all.
