QUEENS Teen Summer Drama Camp (13+)

Drama workshop for teens

7-12 Aug, 12.30 - 16.00

Do you have a teen who is aged 13+ and loves drama? Then come and join StageAbility for a week this summer.

The group will rehearse a play across the week of Monday 7th to Friday 11th August. Rehearsals will take place from 12.30 - 4.30pm at Spencers Wood Village Hall, just minutes from the M4).

On Saturday 12th August, they will perform at The Alan Cornish Theatre, Woodley. They will be needed from 6pm - 8pm.

Our Senior Drama Project will workshop and present Kirsten Doherty’s play QUEENS

Queens is a mix of The Tudors, Bridgeton and Six!

The characters are all based on real people of the time. Henry VIII, his Queens - Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Kathryn Howard, Katherine Parr and daughter Elizabeth I, all play their part in calling Henry to account for his actions.

The Gossips, named after six of his most infamous lovers, spin and twirl their way around the court, relishing in the latest scandal of the day, and recounting in gory detail, the executions of the time. King Henry VIII is trapped in purgatory, bound to his throne by a sinister Fool and the ghostly Women in White. Here in his gilded cage, he is forced to relive the sins he committed against his queens, mistresses and people of the court, over and over again, for an eternity.

Divorced, Married, Died, Divorced, Married, Survived.

This drama camp is aimed at young people aged 13-18 years and promises to be a really memorable week for all involved.

We can’t wait!

Show tickets will go on sale at £7.50 per seat once the week is underway.
