Poets’ Café - August Covers Night

Presented by Reading Stanza & South Street

Fri 14 Aug, 20:00. Poetry starts at 20:15.

Due to the current coronvirus situation, we're unable to host Poets’ Café at South Street. But Reading Stanza continue to present the show online using Zoom.

To book a one page, one poem, open mic slot - or just to be part of the audience - please email and you will be sent a link to a Zoom event which you can access on the night.

August is our Covers’ Night

Please bring along one or two of your favourite poems by a poet or poets you admire and be prepared to read and tell us why they appeal to you.

Your host for the evening will be Damon Young. Damon has been published in a variety of journals, is a winner of the Alzheimer’s Society Poetry Prize, has been commended in the Prole Laureate Prize, long-listed for the Canterbury Festival Poet of the Year and short-listed for The Robert Graves Poetry Prize, The Wells Festival of Literature Poetry Prize, The Brian Dempsey Memorial Prize and the Welshpool Poetry Prize.

He helps to run the Reading Stanza of the Poetry Society and Poets’ Café.

His first pamphlet ‘Family Room’ will be published by Dempsey and Windle in September.
