Open Adult Contemporary Dance: Monthly Classes

11 Jun 2022-6 Aug 2022

These monthly classes are for adults who would like to boost their health and wellbeing, dance technique and choreographic skills and meet like-minded people.

Classes take place on Saturdays, 9:15 - 11:45 am at Southcote Community Hub, Coronation Square, Southcote, Reading on 11th June, 16th July and 6th August 2022. There will be a 15 mins break per class and the class will take a more relaxed pace.

Classes are led by Tara Choudrie, one of our company Dance Artists, who trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and Middlesex University, London. Tara holds a PGCE in Post Compulsory Education and has taught within community settings and in education from primary to degree level with contemporary dance as her specialism. Throughout the series, she will guide you through a combination of taught technical sequences and creative tasks. It would be advantageous to have some prior experience in contemporary dance.

Dance students would benefit from these classes as it is an opportunity to develop performance and choreographic skills alongside their studies. Tara can also provide support for any students wishing to apply to study dance in Higher Education or enter the field.
