Take a look inside the currently derelict Wire Mill, find out more about its history and plans for its renovation.
The Wire Mill is a derelict building on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal next to Southcote Lock 104. This is the opportunity to find out what is the other side of the wall and explore the island. There will be opportunity to find out more about its history, wildlife in the area and plans for its redevelopment into a cafe that will serve users of the towpath.
Tea/coffee and cake will be on offer.
The site is uneven and care must be taken when visiting, it is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues as there are a number of steps. The site is only accessible on foot via the K&A towpath, there is no vehicle access.
