Summer Holiday Activities at Reading Museum

Why not drop into the Museum for a visit during the holidays? Try one of our Explorer Trails or pick up an Activity Pack online here or direct from the Museum.

 

Indoor and Outdoor Explorer Trails

  • Become a Museum explorer and follow our indoor trail around the Museum or outside on our Medieval Animal Trail. Collect your toy prize as you leave the Museum.

Families (please note the toy prize will be suitable for ages 3+). £1 per trail, purchase here or during your visit to the Museum.

 

Abbey 900 Cress Heads Pack 

  • Make the most of the sunny weather by growing some funky cress head characters, including Henry I, the Maiwand Lion, and a Dragon!

Abbey 900 Fun Pack

  • Our Reading Abbey 900 Fun Pack is full of fun crafts and activities. Make a Lion Mask, a Georgian Mask, a Crown, and have a go at our Reading Abbey Quarter Trail with Bertie the Badger!

Bee Happy! Craft Pack

  • Learn all about how to save the bees! Find out about bee-friendly flowers and then have a go at planting your own sunflower (please note that you will need to grow your sunflower in a warm place indoors)

The Study of Drawing Art Pack

  • Be inspired by our new exhibition Rubens to Sickert: the Study of Drawing and have a go yourself! We have included fun drawing tasks to try at home along with different types of paper and materials that some of the artists would have used.

Roman Mosaic Craft Pack

  • Choose from three Mosaic templates and create your own beautiful version from home.

Oh Beautiful World! Art Pack

  • Artists young and old will enjoy making a miniature 3D version of Eleanor’s sculpture and collaging a 2D version.

Dragon Challenge Craft Pack

  • Follow our adventure map to complete our Dragon challenge. You can do this in your garden, local park or just while you are walking down the street! Then colour and decorate our fantastic dragon mask.
