Join us in celebrating the end of our exhibition, 'Animal: World Art Journeys', with a fun-packed day of animal-inspired activities and things to do at Reading Museum: from arts and crafts, to storytelling and talks exploring the many fantastic objects on show!
Animal Stories with Laura Mugridge
Take a seat around the ‘campfire’ with theatremaker and performer Laura Mugridge (maker show Up, Down and Beyond). Laura will tell stories and give tiny missions to explore animal stories, found amid the artefacts of the exhibition and museum. Performances at 11am, 12pm, 2pm, and 3pm.
Wicker Animals with Christine Brewster
Christine Brewster will demonstrate the techniques she uses to make her incredible wicker animals. Get a chance to try and make some of your own! Join us from 11am until 1pm, or 2pm until 3:30pm.
Bird Feeders with Fong Scott
Learn how to make feeders for our little feathered friends in these cold months! Get involved between 10.30am and 12pm, and 2pm and 3:30pm.
Story-telling with Vaishali Raithatha
Experienced story-teller Vaishali Raithatha will weave a selection of animal stories from around the world for your little ones, though big kids can enjoy them too! Join in the fun in half an hour sessions starting on the hour from 11am until 3pm.
Throughout the day we’ll have a selection of FREE Animal arts and crafts for families and children run by our Museum team! No pre-booking required, just turn up on the day and get involved, from 10:30am to 12:30pm, and 1pm to 3pm.
