Fun Palaces Across Reading Libraries

Saturday 7th October, from 10am

Come and join us on Saturday 7th October for free, fun events for all ages across our libraries as we take part in this year's Fun Palaces weekend.

Central Library    

  • 10am - 2.30pm      Craft Bags - make a miniature world in a box
  • 10am - 2.30pm      Junk Modelling - What can you make from our junk?
  • 10am - Noon         Lolly catapults - Create crafty catapults and see if you can hit the target.  How far will yours travel?
  • 12.30pm - 2.30pm Book Art - create something new with old books

Battle Library 

  • 10am - 2.30pm      Plantable Seed Paper Bookmarks - Craft for adults. Read your book, then plant the bookmark.
  • 10am - 2.30pm      Nature Trail - Wildlife has run amok at Battle Library, help us find them all.
  • 10am - 2.30pm      Colouring - Colour a petal to make our giant flower bloom!
  • 11am - Noon          Cress Garden Children’s Craft - Design your garden and see it grow.

Caversham Library

  • 10.30 – 11.30am   Join Neil Grant, local author of ‘A Spider lives in my Dad’s beard!’ for a fun storytime and craft activity session.  Ideal for 2 – 5 yr olds and their families.
  • 11am - Noon         Come and learn some simple origami!  We will show you the moves to make some simple origami creations to impress your friends and family.  All ages.  
  • 10 - 11.30am         Plant a Seed - Members of Caversham Horticultural Society will be with us with pots, seeds and soil to help you plant seeds in pots to take home.  Come and be Down to Earth ….in the library!

Palmer Park Library 

  • 10am - 12.30pm    Junk Modelling - What can you make from our junk?

Southcote Library

  • 11am - 12.30pm    Junk Modelling - What can you make from our junk?

Whitley Library

  • 10.30am - 12.30pm Junk Modelling - What can you make from our junk?
