Reading Culture Live celebrated National Poetry Day on 1st October with a special virtual performance live from South Street Arts Centre. Hosts Vic Pickup and Zannah Kearns introduced local poets Mo Abu-Bakra, AF Harrold, Sarah Smith, Susan Utting and Damon Young, and award-winning Reading-born Hollie McNish in an evening full of uplifting, poignant and funny poetry.
The live performance was recorded and you can still purchase to watch until Friday 16 October. (Please note: Some of Hollie McNish’s poems contain content of an adult nature.)
This is a Reading Culture Live funded event, which is supported by the Great Places Scheme, a national project funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund, Arts Council England and Historic England, designed to put arts, culture and heritage at the heart of successful communities across England.
Please note that this is a virtual event and will be available online at the advertised time and date. Ticket holders will receive an email with the link to the live performance on the day of the event, no later than half an hour before the advertised performance time. If you are unable to watch live, you will be able to watch the event until the 14th of October.
