Pottery for All (Thursdays)
A Day Time Ten-Week Course suitable for All
13 Jan 2022-31 Mar 2022
Explore the skills and techniques to create your very own pieces of pottery. Try different ways of making and decorating pottery, for example throwing, hand building and glazing methods.
This term the course will focus on the work of Clarice Cliff, one of the most influential ceramic artists of the 20th Century. Born in 1899, she hand painted her very own designs on pots, which were inspired by the Art Deco movement.
- As a beginner, you will learn all about the three main methods of making pottery: coiling, slab building and throwing on the wheel;
- You will also learn how to decorate your pots by glazing;
- Those with more experience will be encouraged to expand their skills and to devise and work on their own projects
Please bring an apron, a tea towel, a pen or pencil with you to your first lesson.
