Mother Tongue - Creativity is a global language

Mother Tongue is a community craft collective for people who have English as an additional language.

Wednesdays at 10:00-11:30

Mother Tongue meets every Wednesday morning 10am to 11.30am during school term time. The group brings together people who enjoy making together to share craft skills and benefit from spending time with each other and enjoying making with their hands.

Mother Tongue is open to anyone with English as an additional language.

Part one of these workshops will focus on KNITTING and after half term we will look at CROCHET. All workshops will focus on how to use up waste and stash yarn. Yarn and needles are available and participants are also welcome to bring their own. Mother Tongue welcomes all skill levels welcome from beginner to experienced.

Mother Tongue will follow a programme of traditional and modern craft skills from professional makers in a friendly and safe environment.

To allow our workshops to be accessible to all we are able to offer our workshops for a nominal fee and we have a limited number of free places for each session. If you are able we have created different pay grades or an option to donate. All donations help us to continue our work to make space for art for everyone every day.

By attending this workshop you are agreeing to act in accordance with our workshop behaviour policy which can be viewed here:
