Andrew McCormack's Graviton

Jazz in Readings marks a welcome return to the stage of the Progress Theatre with the internationally acclaimed pianist/composer Andrew McCormack and the unique sounds of his most ambitious project to date, Graviton.

Described by Jamie Cullum as 'The highest level of musicianship you could possibly hear in one band'Graviton embraces a groove-based setting including vocals and a wider sound world which can be likened to Chick Corea's 'Return to Forever' and Tigra Hamasyan's 'Shadow Theatre' album.

In the company of Noemi Nuti vocals, Josh Arcoleas saxophone, Tom Herbert electric bass and Josh Blackmore drums, Andrew consistently demonstrates a compelling setting for his musical ideas, a platform for virtuosic improvisation and a constant reviving and adaptive embodiment of the jazz tradition.
