Meet the Father Willis Organ - An Astounding Invention

Sat 17 Sep, 12:00 & 13:30

Just how does an organ work? And who was Father Willis? Learn this, be astounded by the sound and maybe even have a go for yourself.

Join Organ Curator, Dr William McVicker, organist David Pether and other members of the Berkshire Organists’ Association in an exploration of the history and sounds of the internationally-renowned ‘Father’ Willis Organ in Reading Town Hall’s Concert Hall. Find out how it works and listen to some stirring music. Afterwards there will be a chance for members of the public to try the instrument for themselves.

Sessions last approximately one hour.
