CHATROOM by Enda Walsh

A live streaming online theatre project.

We would absolutely love you to join us for the live stream of our lockdown, online theatre project of Enda Walsh’s CHATROOM on Saturday 23rd May at 7.30pm here:

(14+ parental advisory)

A chilling, blackly comic tale of manipulation, cyberbullying and adolescent insecurity. In a quiet corner of the internet, a group of bored, restless teenagers spends its time deconstructing children's literature and the messages in modern pop music. But when a new member joins to share his depression and thoughts of suicide, the conversation takes a darker turn.

A powerful depiction of modern-day isolation and the dangerous power of technology.

With a blistering soundtrack from local bands Only the Poets, Valeras, doops, IVORIES, Only Sun and some old school Chewing Gum Weekends, who have all kindly said we can use their music in the play. Many of them with new releases coming up, so please do check them out too. We’re all missing our usual performing spaces and their support has been amazing in this project.

The play is also supporting Mental Health Awareness week taking place ‪from Monday 18 to Sunday 24 May 2020‬. The theme for 2020 is 'kindness'. Berzerk Productions are collecting no funding or monies for this project personally and 100% of donations will go to No.5 Counselling and the essential help they offer our local young people in need, especially during the current times we are all living in. I know it seems we are all inundated with fundraising at the moment, but do hope you can spare just a little to watch our show. Giving young people a voice is so important to us.
