And if you're aged 8-18 and love to act, sing and dance, you can be part of it! Auditions will take place on Sunday 27 June at Denefield School, split into two age groups, juniors and seniors.

Support comes from Canadian rising star Kate Herron, Jamie D'Souza and Katharyn Henson.

New York, 1971. There’s a party on the stage of the Weismann Theatre. Tomorrow the iconic building will be demolished. Thirty years after their final performance, the Follies girls gather to have a few drinks, sing a few songs and lie about themselves. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical was directed by Dominic Cooke and filmed live on stage at the National Theatre in 2017.

There are 3 local live bands, a bar provided by Reading’s iconic Purple Turtle, and the famous hog roast! As the festival is a family event, children’s entertainment is provided so mum and dad can enjoy the music.

SISATA present a dynamic new adaptation of the Ancient Greek play, performed in the open air at Caversham Court Gardens. Antigone is set in the future, echoing the present, transporting us back to the roots of all theatre. Infusing Ancient Greek theatrical techniques with live music and singing throughout, audience interaction and a comedic Greek chorus commentating on the action.
Armed Forces Day

Reading will once again be be paying tribute to its military veterans in the Forbury Gardens and Broad Street on Saturday the 26th June. The annual event begins at 11am in the Forbury Gardens with entertainment throughout the day, a host of family-friendly activities and stalls from military organisations. The day will culminate with the annual HM Armed Forces Veteran’s Badge Presentation from 4pm.
